European Cyber Security Month is supported across Europe by Member States who organise numerous activities including conferences, workshops and webinars. They also disseminate appropriate awareness-raising material and good practices to promote cybersecurity. This year the ECSM themes will focus on Being cyber-secure at home and Cyber First Aid if one falls victim of a cyber-attack. Ransomware will also be touched upon to increase awareness of this threat.
The main objectives of the 2021 campaign are to ensure that end-users and organisations are well informed on potential cybersecurity risks and that they stay safe online.
The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) will be running a cyber security awareness campaign during the month of October to include appropriate awareness raising material on the ECSM themes to convey the importance of good cyber security practices.
Material will be published via their Twitter handles (@Dept_ECC) (@ncsc_gov_ie) The NCSC will also take part in the Cyber Ireland National Conference on the 21st October 2021.
If your organisation is taking part in ECSM and would like to register their events or take part in other events, details can be found at the ECSM website.
