The Media and Learning Association (MLA) is running a series of webinars together with the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) on Digital & Media Literacy in Europe. The title of the series is ‘Exploring Media Literacy at National, Regional and Local Level – the work of EDMO hubs.’ The main goal is to present the media literacy work of each hub and share best practices with the wider community.
The first webinar of the series took place on 14 September and it featured EDMO hubs from Ireland, Italy, Belgium and Luxembourg. Representing Ireland, Media Literacy Coordinator of Ireland EDMO Hub Ricardo Castellini da Silva presented an overview of the work that MLI has done over the past few years, and discussed future activities, partnerships, and campaigns that MLI and EDMO Ireland are planning together for the coming months.
Reflecting on the presentations, Sally Reynolds, MLA’s Chief Operating Officer said that one of the most interesting aspects of the event was to see the different approaches to Media Literacy in each country, and how they can be complementary in so many ways. For the audience, it was a good opportunity to learn more about the work of EDMO, and discuss with the participants best practices involved in each Media Literacy initiative.
The Recording of the session is now available along with the Speakers’ Presentations (downloadable in PDF) on the MLA event page – you will find the recording under the videos tab.
