Webwise is the Irish Internet Safety Awareness Centre which is co-funded by the Department of Education and is co-financed by the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility.
Webwise promotes safer, better Internet use through awareness raising and education initiatives targeting teachers, children, young people and parents.
They develop and disseminate resources that help teachers integrate digital citizenship and online safety into teaching and learning in their schools.
Resources address topics such as cyberbullying, privacy, image-sharing, media and information literacy. Webwise also provides information, advice, and tools to parents to support their engagement in their children’s online lives.
With the help of the Webwise Youth Advisory Panel, Webwise develops youth oriented awareness raising resources and training programmes that promote digital citizenship and address topics such as online wellbeing, cyberbullying and more.
In addition to being long-term active members of Media Literacy Ireland, Webwise are also members of the National Advisory Council for Online Safety.
Webwise are members of the Insafe network and the Irish Safer Internet Centre; a consortium of industry, education, child welfare and government partners that provide awareness, hotline and helpline functions and activities in the Republic of Ireland.

Recent resources and projects of interest include the HTML Heroes Programme for 1st and 2nd Class, EduMedia Test and the Connected Resource for Junior Cycle.
